Independence Day Speech | 15 August Speech 1
Good morning to all my respected teachers, parents and dear classmates. Today we are united here to celebrate The Independence Day. As we all know that Independence day is a blessed occasion for all of Indian. India’s Independence Day is the most important day for all the Indian citizens and has been mentioned forever in history. Independence Day is the day when we got freedom from the British rule after many years of hard struggle by our great freedom fighters. We celebrate independence day every year on 15th of August to remember the first day of independence of India as well as remember all the sacrifices of the great freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives in getting independence for India.
India got independence on the 15th of August in 1947 from the British rule. After independence, we got all the fundamental rights in our own Nation, our Motherland. Everyone should feel proud to be an Indian and praise our fate that we took birth on an Independent India. During British rule, Britishers have done very brutal behaviour to our ancestors and forefathers. We cannot imagine by sitting/standing here that how hard the independence was for India from the British rule. It took many sacrifices of many freedom fighters and Many Decades of struggle from 1857 to 1947. Mangal Pandey (A Indian soldier) in the British force had first raised his voice against Britishers for the independence of India.
Later Many great freedom fighters had struggled and spent their whole life only to get freedom. We can never forget the sacrifices of the Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Rani Lakshmibai, Chandrashekhar Azad, Ashfaqulla Khan, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Vallabhbhai Patel, Mangal Pandey, Tatya Tope, Ram Prasad Bismil, Udham Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, Khudiram Bose, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Sarojini Naidu, Madan Lal Dhingra who had lost their lives just for fighting for their country. How can we ignore all the struggles of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Gandhiji was a great Indian leader who taught Indians a big lesson of non-violence. Finally after so many years of struggle and sacrifice came to end on the 15th of August 1947 when India got freedom.
We are so lucky that our ancestors have given us Freedom from British. India is developing very fast in the field of technology, education, sports, finance. Indian’s are going ahead by actively participating in the sports like Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and Asian games. We have full rights to chose our govt. We are the largest democracy in the world. Yes, we are free and have complete freedom however we should not understand ourselves free of responsibilities towards India.
Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.
Independence Day Speech | 15 August Speech 2
Good morning to all teachers, parents and my dear Classmates. Today we are gathered here to celebrate the occasion of Independence day on 15th of August. We celebrate this day with lots of enthusiasm and joy every year because India got freedom on this day in 1947 from British rule. We are here to celebrate the 73rd number of independence day. People of India had suffered Brutal behaviour of Britishers for many years. Today we Indian’s have freedom just because of decades of struggle of our forefathers. Before 1947 people were the slaves of Britishers and forced to follow all the orders of them. Today we are free to do anything because of our all great Indian freedom fighter & leaders who struggled hard for many years to get freedom against British rule.
Independence day is celebrated all over India with Enjoyment. Independence day is a very important day for all Indian citizens as it gives us the opportunity to remember all those freedom fighters who had sacrificed their lives just for giving us a peaceful life. Earlier to independence, people were not allowed to get an education, eat healthy food and live a normal life like us. We should be thankful for those events responsible for the freedom in India. Indians were treated more badly than slaves by the Britishers just to fulfil their orders.
Some of the great freedom fighters of India are Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhiji, Udham Singh, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Lala Lajpat Ray, Bhagat Singh, Khudi Ram Bose, and Chandra Sekhar Azad. They were freedom fighters and leaders who struggled hard for the freedom of India till the end of their life. We cannot imagine that horrible moment struggled by our ancestors. Now, after many years of independence, India is on the right track of development. Today India is a well established democratic country all over the world. Gandhiji dreamed of an independent India with the nonviolence and peace.
After a century of struggle and being ruled by the British – India was claiming the freedom we always deserved. Men, women, and children are happy to call this land their own for the first time. And today, we must ask: Are we respecting the struggle of our ancestors? Are we valuing this freedom, and understanding that we, as citizens, have a responsibility towards the nation too?
India is our country and we are its citizens. We should always be ready to save it from the enemy. It is our responsibility to lead our country ahead and make India the best country in the world.
Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.
Independence Day Speech | 15 August Speech 3
Very good morning to the honourable Chief Guest, respected teachers, parents and my all Classmates. We all are excited about celebrating Independence Day in such an excellent manner. We are gathered here to celebrate the 73rd independence day of our Country. First of all, we raise our honourable national flag then give a salute to all the brave works of the freedom fighters. I have such a great opportunity to give a speech on Independence Day in front of you all. I would like to say thanks to my respected teacher that he/she has given me an opportunity to share my views with you all about Independence Day.
We celebrate Independence Day every year on the 15th of August because India got independence from the British on the night of 14th of August in 1947. Just after the independence of India, Jawaharlal Nehru had given a speech on the Independence day in Delhi. After freedom, India has been the largest democratic country in the world. Our country is famous for unity in diversity. India faced many incidents testing its secularism however we are always ready to answer with our unity.
Because of the hard struggles of our ancestors and forefathers we are now able to enjoy the freedom and breathe fresh air according to our wish. We can never forget our ancestor’s works and we will always remember them through history. We cannot imagine by sitting/standing here that how hard the independence was for India from the Britishers. However, we can give them a heartily salute. They would always be in our memories and way of inspiration for our whole life.
Some of our great freedom fighters and leaders are Gandhiji, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Chandrashekhar Azad, Rani Lakshmibai, Vallabhbhai Patel, Ashfaqulla Khan, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Mangal Pandey, Udham Singh, Tatya Tope, Ram Prasad Bismil, Sukhdev Thapar, Khudiram Bose, Sarojini Naidu, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Madan Lal Dhingra who had lost their lives just for fighting for their country.
Today We remember the sacrifices of great Indian leaders who had given their lives for the freedom and prosperity of the country. Freedom of India was possible because of the sacrifice, cooperation, and involvement of all the Indians. We should value and salute all freedom fighters because they are the real national heroes. We should keep faith in the secularism and never be separate to maintain unity so that no one can break and rule again.
With freedom, comes a big responsibility to hold those in power accountable. If we see something wrong happening around us, it is our responsibility to speak up and urge for action. A citizen’s voice is the most powerful voice – it can build and break policies, it can build and break governments. Let’s use it to shape our future.
We should sincerely perform our duty and do work hard to get the goal and successfully lead this democratic country.
Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.

A huge Independence Day celebration takes place in New Delhi at Rajpath every year where the national anthem is sung after the flag hoisting by the prime minister. Together with the national anthem, a salute through 21 guns firing and showering of flowers through helicopter is given to our national flag. Hon’ble Guests of Honor, Managers, other Staff Members and My Dear Friends – Warm Greetings to all of you!
I am feeling extremely happy today by hosting the eve of Independence Day. We as Indians should realize the importance of Independence Day and should be filled with utmost pride to have finally get back our freedom from the chain of British rule. It gives me a sense of joy which is unspeakable in words when I see our national flag soaring in the wind high up. I am sure you can relate to my emotions. Like all, we know Independence Day is celebrated on the 15th of August every year and it is in the year 1947 that India come out as a free nation. Since this is a day of great importance for all the Indians, the national holiday is being declared in India and all of us celebrate Independence Day with great joy and happiness.
Does anyone here know about the period of Britishers? Well, let me share with you all that it was between 1858 to 1947 that the British colonized our Indian subcontinent.
When the East India Company arrived in India, East India Company stripped of the goods and land of Indian people by conspiracy.
The East India Company was founded in 1600. Though apparently, East India Company’s main aim was to trade, it eventually became an indomitable force of colonization controlling the most part of our Indian subcontinent. The people living in the Indian subcontinent during that time became the part of the British colonial rule under Queen Victoria and subsequently other monarchs who came after her.
I am sure we all can say that getting independence under such challenging situation was not an easy task, but required long and persistent efforts. We can never forget the sacrifices of the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Chandrashekhar Azad, Rani Lakshmibai, Ashfaqulla Khan, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Vallabhbhai Patel, Mangal Pandey, Udham Singh, Tatya Tope, Ram Prasad Bismil, Sukhdev Thapar, Khudiram Bose, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Sarojini Naidu, Madan Lal Dhingra who had lost their lives just for fighting for their country. How can we ignore all the struggles of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Gandhiji achieved independence by not following the path of violence, but through his policy of non-violence wherein, he did not oppose the rule of British through armed battle rather he with his followers started the non-violence campaign which comprised hunger strikes and disobedience. The efforts of freedom fighters and great leaders ultimately brought an end to the British Raj in our country.
We should salute those heroic spirits and pay our tribute to them by remembering their brave works and sacrifice for our motherland and never forget that it is because of freedom fighters and great leaders efforts that we stand today and breathe in an Independent India.
It was somewhat in the midnight between 14th August and daytime of 15th August 1947 that the treaty of Indian sovereignty was signed. In India, Jawaharlal Nehru became the prime minister of India and Britain renounced his rule over India. The British no longer had anything to do with the Indian affairs.
We can understand very well the intensity of that important time when India actually gained independence. It is quite significant to understand that even though India gained independence in 1947, it was only in the 1950s that India’s official constitution as an independent nation came into effect. The period in between was a transition phase in the form of 3 years.
So on this day of great historical importance, our prime minister visits Red Fort and hoists our National Flag or Tiranga. Post that the national anthem is being sung. It is then followed by a speech delivered by our prime minister to the people of its country. Now, the 73rd Independence Day will be celebrated on August 15th, 2019. The whole site looks so spectacular and mesmerizing that we can’t help but remain in awe while witnessing the whole ceremony.
In the end, all that can be said is Independence is priceless and our soldiers are so brave that they are continuously fighting on borders in order to protect our country from any Enemy or terrorist group. So we should never fail to value this Independence and preserve it wholeheartedly.
This is all I can say, Jai Hind!
